HI,

Our CICS system was hit by lightning and it took out the flash card and power supply. The Call pilot is fine and still on the network. It appears that we are back to system defaults on programming. Our phone guy is horribly backed up and I am their IT guy and want to get them at least somewhat functional. What I need to know is how to get the 7316E phones to add the line 3 and line 4 below line 1 and line 2. I need to tell the system that the call pilot is on the last port, I also need to make the calls only ring to extension 21. 2 digit extensions are what we had before. I understand the call pilot stuff enough to work on it. I also need to know how to program the very upper right button to be the voicemail button where the system asks for the password of the mailbox when pressed.

Thank You!

if your system is defaulted there is a nice amount of things that need to be chgd, but as far as getting lines to appear back on phones is fairly easy, can u get into the system w the default pswd?

To program the vm login button, go to each set and press F*3, the vm button, then F981.

I have not tried, but I am pretty sure I can if I new what it was.. 1234 ???
There are 4 analog lines attached as 001, 002, 003, 004. I have been so busy with their canopy and tranzeo data networks.

Thank You!

As a technician, I understand what it's like to be "horribly backed up", but even so, your phone guy should still be able to spare you a few minutes to get you functional again.

The programming norstarboy125 is talking about is accessed by pressing F**266344, then the password. On this site, we aren't allowed to give out passwords- once you can get in, we can help you from there.

CallPilot will automatically be recognized by the system and will function when you use the F98x codes for the CallPilot system.

As far as programming lines, in configuration programming, you must go to each set and set which lines you want to appear. What I do when a system is default programmed is set up a "template" set that I want to use for all phones. Set up one phone to show lines 1-4, then copy that set (SYSTEM+USER) data to a range of DNs. For instance if I set up ext 21 with all 4 lines, I can then copy that DN to a range, such as 22-36.

However, note which ports that your CallPilot is on when copying, and I would exclude those when copying sets. If you have a CallPilot 100, you will only have 2 DNs set to the CP. If it is a CP150, 4 DN's will be assigned.

Hope this helps...

Thank You! It is a call pilot 100. I wired it, but I normally hand off to a local Nortel guy for the programming. He did a square D template orginally, then I changed it to only ring to the one extension and no extensions at night. The last 2 ports are the call pilot and the one before that is the RAD. I am 3hrs away from the system. This would be simple for me if it were a BCM. What is the minimum that I would have to do to get the RAD up and going? I thought I needed to assign the port and then tell the rad to auto answer. I do not know these commands.

Thank You!

You should be able to make the RAD auto-answer, but I think this is done through system programming (if I remember right.) Or, you can access the RAD via Operator Assisted access as norstarboy said.

One of these two methods should allow you to remotely access your system and access the system programming as well as run a virtual M7310/7324 set to program the system from a "virtual" phone. I have done this before with a RAD and it is very convenient.

Use the operator assisted. I've run into trouble assigning a line for the rad to answer. Unless they dedicate a line to the rad, it's bound to conflict with their calls.

OK. So far so good. If I do a f*3, then press the button for line3, then what code do I hit for turnk line 003? I have enabled the 003 and 004 trunk lines for dialing out, but I am not sure how to program the line buttons.

When you program line buttons, you cannot do this through F*3. You have to be in Config programming. You go to Config, go to Terminals&Sets, select the set's DN that you want to configure, and then view the line configuration. If you want lines 003 and 004 to appear and ring, you would go to the line configuration, show line 003, and then select Appr&Ring. Do the same thing for line 004. This will then automatically add those two line keys, but only to that set. You have to do this for each set in the system that you want to configure, unless you set up a template set and then copy that as I described earlier.
