Maintening WindowsXP

I want to ask what i should do for periodic maintenance concerning WinXP and if it's better to use also an extra utility to maintain good working condition.

I've found that XP tends to run fine by itself P-)

the best way to do it is to defrag more often if you tend to delete files quite often

once you defrag it, your windows tend to run faster

and scan disk the hard drive every so often also, select after right clicking the c drive and then you have to restart to active it.
