Hi everybody. I'm running sql 2000 on Win 2000 box. When I create a maintenance plan, on the tab "optimizations", I have the option to "remove unused space from database files". That's nice, but it's the following line that confuses me a bit.
It says "shrink database when it grows beyond:" and then you fill out the MB. Can anyone tell me when exactly my database is going to be shrunk ? Is it when the database grows beyond the set amount of Mb, or is it when there is more unused space in the database than the set amount of MB ?
I think the second option would be logical, but reading the BOL on this subject does NOT reassure me. Specifically, it says : "Remove unused space from the database only if the database exceeds the specified size, in megabytes (MB)."
Thanx, and greetings
