hi could anyone here help me with this.

I have an auto attendant from Lucent which is Audix Intuity.

I have an aut at box set at 101. its all set up in the audix with times so when its 11 pm the system has a bussines closed message and a general box. that is set at 102

what i want is to have an annoucement that says

"Were sorry. We can not curently take your call becasue our phone system is down for maintance." it then goes to a gen box
i wana be able to press a button or sumthin simple for this to take over the other att sets. this would be box 103 and we have out system on key mode with 10 lines in
to the system.
nothing special at all there are 4 digital sets the rest are normal desk phones from a local electronics store.
i do have one mlx-20l that is where the phone system is kept.

Thanks for the advice and guidance

Are you saying you want calls to the extensions to go to this maint. announcement instead of individual mailboxes? Or, if someone dials an extension from the auto-attendant, it goes to the maint. announcement instead of transferring to the ext?

Is this just a temporary announcement that needs to be played occasionally or on a regular basis? Will it take the place of the regular main greeting?

The audix is pretty flexible, so I'm afraid your going to have to be more specific in what your trying to accomplish.

What I need to happen is to be able to activate a greeting in place of our normal one that has a directory. it will only be used once and a while it will say the system is down for maintance and we cant take the call. They will then get a general mailbox.

This greeting would cover all incoming calls when it is activated. I would like to be able to activate it by pushing a button on a phone if poosible,

thanks

Simon

If the AA is answering calls immediately, you won't be able to 'press' a button to change announcements. You would have to change the destination mailbox in the 1- AA routing 2- main AA mailbox's dial 0/timeout options.

If you know when you plan to be 'down', add an entry in your holiday schedule (changing the dates as necessary).

If the AA doesn't answer immediately, you could assign a mailbox to your console as your 'down' mailbox, and give the console a VM Cov on/off button.
