There is sometning wrong with the drive... Viewing the drive is okej, but loading data is not working!

I have run the chkdsk a couple of times and I really don't dare to run the defragtool shipping with Windows 2000 in case I mess even more.

The drive used to be the only drive but now it's an extra drive. So it's possible to run the computer and to work without fiddleing with the failing drive...

Any suggestions!?

The MaxBlast3 seemed a little confusing... What shall I do? How shall I use it!?

I read this post,

"Missing files after scandisk"
thread616-696838 have downloaded the manufacturers tools (as suggested) but I don't know how to use them!

Maxblast creates a floppy disk. You boot from the floppy it creates and it will auto-run the program.

TRhank y ou for your valuable input and sorry for my lousy post!

I have done that part but then...!? There is a lot of three letter choices! What do I select to continue to fix the disk without deleting any information?

Choose the recertify option, which is non-destructive. It is the third option. The last option on the list is destructive, and requires you to type various things to access to make certain you realize that everything on the disk will be cleaned.
