Hello,

Does anyone know how to get into the main message and change it? For instance, you call our company the message says, thank you for calling BLAH BLAH industries. If you want to reach this department please push 1, if you want to reach this department please push 2, if you want to reach our company directory please push 6.

I want to go in and change the main message and add something else to it.

How would I do this?

Any help appreciated.

Vanilla

Do you have vectoring enabled in your switch? What type of announcement cards do you have in you switch??

I am not sure if I have vectoring enabled, how do I check? Announcement cards? Hmmm, that's a good one too. See I have been here only for about 6 months this system was pretty much set up before I came. I haven't had any formal training, so the day to day administration that I have been doing, I have learned on my own. For the most part, I have been able to figure most of it out, but this is something that we need really fast, so I don't have alot of time to think about it.

Please let me know what I can do to answer any of the question that you have asked.

Thanks,

Vanilla

You could be using vectoring to direct calls to announcment cards or you may have an auto attendant running on audix.
The first thing you need to do is figure out which.

I am almost 100 percent sure that it's an auto-attendant, but how do I verify?

How are your calls being delivered into your sytem? What is the main number for you company it is likely that the last 4 digits of it will be where the calls are being delivered to ie a station with an x port, VDN etc. Try to find out how this is being done.

Thanks, this one is resolved. We actually have an auto-attendant set up which made life very easy. Basically you change the message the same way we change the messages on all other extensions.
1. log into the system.
2. dial assigned extension for the auto-attendant.
3. dial password.
4. # 3 to change messages.
5. find out which greeting is active.
6. record greeting.
8. DONE

Simple...

But if the auto attendant isn't set up then you have to set it up, which is a whole other subject.

Thanks again.
