MAIN MENU DISSAPEARS WHEN A REPORT IS OPEN

I have a form where the user enters the data using a calendar. on the same form there are buttons that open different reports. when any of the reports is open the menu dissapears when I close any of the reports the menu is back. Can anyone tell me if there anything that I should be checking for.

Which menu is disappearing?
To find out click on the parallel lines on the left side and drag in out in the middle of Access. You will see its name in the heading.
Now open your report.
Access menus change when different things are opened and closed.
It cuts down on confusion. So you only see things that are pertinent to the task at hand.

Di you add some special buttons that you want ON all the time. If so create a new Menu then drag those items to it. Since its not a 'Regular" Access menu it will stay put no matter whats opened.

The only thing I did was under start up I took the check of from the following
allow full menus
display database
allow default short cut menus
display status bar
and I enter the name of the form I want to show when they enter this application. This is what happen when I open the project and the first forms open the follwing menu is available

when I click a button on the first form it opens a second form and the first one is minimized
the following menu is available

the second form is a calendar

when the I push a button on the second form which opens a graph the menu available is as follow

file window and help

If I tried to close the report using the control box at the top the little X. I get a performed illegal operation error. Does anyone knows why this maybe happening

Hi,
those menus are only displaying what is appropriate for the object in focus. The edit, insert and records options are not suitable for reports, only forms, so they only show when forms a form is open.
As for the illegal operation what other details does it give with it?

The problem is that when I open the report the file menu option has only close and exit so I can't print.

change the Allow Full Menus back to True, or create your own custom menus
