hi

Does anyone know what does the below mean?

main.exe : memory not enough

I try to run a very old game (DOS based) on my laptop and the above will show and terminate the game.

My laptop configuration : Celeron M 1.3Ghz, 512Mb RAM, Intel GMA 900 and Win XP Pro SP2.

Ironically, the said game has not problem running on my Celeron D desktop with 1Gb RAM and Win XP Pro SP2.

Thanks.

Have you tried a different Compatibility Mode for your game?

Type - Getting older programs to run on Windows XP - in the Help and Support program for the basics.

How to Use Windows Application Compatibility Mode.

See if something like "Dosbox" helps you.
Does XP support 16 bit DOS programs?

thanks. this is what i did.
right click the program icon, select Properties -> Memory
and set all memory allocation to Auto.

and on the Screen tab, select Full-Screen mode.

The game is playable now.
