MailBox under AD with cross-out sign, can delete ?

Dear all :
I have exchange 2000 server on win2k environment. After I have opened the AD, I found a lots of mailbox which is indicated with a cross-out sign of some specific id under the Microsft Exchange System. Thus, I would like to know can I delete these cross-out mailbox which I believed that these were the remove users' mailbox. Please advise.

As you say they relate to users that have been deleted, you can purge (delete) the mail box or leave it and AD should remove it automatically after I believe 30 days (unless you've altered this setting).
