mail merge using text file

I have a large text data file that contains names and addresses that I want to merge into a document. Each record consists of three lines (name, address, city-state-zip). The data file was created in label format with WP 9.0 but contains no merge codes. Is there any way I can automatically insert the necessary merge codes without having to do them record by record? Or, can I somehow tell WordPerfect to treat each line as a field?
