Mail Merge Problem

I had setup a MS Word doc to receive data from an Access query. Everything was fine until the other day when the Word document stopped responding.

I then took the original form letter and tried to setup everything again using Mail Merge just as I had before. Everything goes fine until I try to assign the data source using the open option. When I do this, the Access .MDB opens and the Word document freezes and stops responding.

Thinking I was doing something wrong, I repeated the process on another pc and everything went fine. I am wondering if there is a problem with the .MDB involved as I cannot see why it would open when closed when I attempt to assign the data source via Mail Merge.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure what the issue would be on the first PC, but start with the usual suspects:

Compact and repair the database, check table links if appropriate, make sure there are no 'phantom' .ldb files in the directory leftover from a freeze...
