Mail Merge Problem with Word

I know it regards MS Word, but I figured I'd post it here. It's word 2000 on win98...anyhoo, when I got to see this pc, there were about a hundred instances of mail merge under the tools toolbar. Any idea what might cause this?

I would say Word is corrupted, easiest and probably only fix is to remove and reinstall Word, hopefully you have the Office CD, just insert it and on autorun it will give you the option of adding or removing Office components. All things are possible except skiing through a revolving door.

Well to get rid of this, I deleted normal.dot, the template for word. I was just wondering if anyone had seen this type of behavior before.
