We are a small business and we are relaying our mail from an outside ISP using GFI Pop2Exchange.
I have tried to start up and run the Mail Filtering and trying to catch some of the spam messages but it does not seem to be working.
My question is since we are relaying our e-mail and not accepting the mail as the first point (or only point) is this the reason for the filtring issues?

I have tired 2 ways with GFI MailEssentials: Using a SPAM mail box to send the mail there if it flags the message as SPAM and tried the folder approach as well (moving the e-mail to a specific folder).

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks

your best bet is to mail support-at gfi, they are really helpful, and you normally get a reasonably quick (within a day) response

Alternatively, their forums can be quite useful

Cheers

As far as I know, GFi Pop2Exchange brings the email directly into Exchange. GFi MailEssentials does Spam at the SMTP gateway. Neither of these 2 overlap so anti spam won't work.

But I agree with Paul, check with support as they are great.
