Hi,
I am wanting to install MBM from SP3 Exchange 5.5.Will I have to stop / start Services or reboot the Server after
the install?
Does anybody out there use it in anger?
If so, are there any disadvantages running MBM on over
2000 Mail Recipients?
Feedback greatly appreciated,thanks.

I use it - you can install it without it stopping the IS service. It takes a while to run when you have lots of mailboxes to process, but that's okay if you schedule it for the middle of the night (avoid your backups, though).

Disadvantages: apart from the fact that your users will whine about you deleting their email (make sure you set a decent deleted item recovery period so that they can get back items they really need after they are deleted, and make sure you set it to move items to the deleted items folder instead of immediately deleting them), the only real disadvantage is that it stamps the mailboxes with its logon details so you can't see from the store resources which mailboxes haven't been logged on to for a long time.

Many thanks zbnet,very useful advice..
I was intending to schedule over the weekend,no backups, but is it best to avoid the Online Defrag 2 - 7am?
