It looks like 9.5.800 requires a new Crystal version to modify custom reports. Any comments or experience on if there are speed improvements on Crystal reports? Any other update problems?

Where to start?
There were a couple of nasty bugs related to invoice printing when 9.5.800 was first released, but these have been addressed in the Hot Topics.
Exact added a new driver that you are supposed to convert any existing custom reports to use. However, I've found that custom reports added to the Macola menu will still work fine using the previous OLE connection. In fact, I've modified custom reports using Crystal XI and they work fine on ES9.5.800 (however, I'd still update to Crystal 2011 just to be safe).
A lot of the canned forms (OE invoice for example) now use a custom view similar to how the aging reports work. That means you'll need to completely redo any modifications you've made to custom forms, and you may have difficulty including fields that are not in the view (subreports work for this). I would definitely do a test update if you have modified forms or custom reports that are added to the ES menu.
Bottom line: Crystal 2011 doesn't offer a lot of functional improvements over Crystal XI. Macola ES 9.5.800 doesn't offer a lot of functional improvements over ES 9.5.700 (other than the pretty blue color scheme).
