Machines lossing AP association

I have two PC's with internal PCI WiFi cards, maybe 10 ft from an access point on the other side of a cinderblock wall (AP2). I also have another access point a distance away (AP1) that is visible to network cards even though it supports another area. For these particular PCs, AP2 is usually at 100%, AP1 is usually 50%-60%. I have assoiciated the machines with AP2. The PCs (W2K) run continously. However, once or twice a week users report a loss of connectivity, and when I go to look, the machines are no longer associated with an access point. All I have to do is login as admin and reassociate, but I've never seen a machine just kick the association on it's own, and why do both machines do it at the same time? I think I've eliminated the possibility that the AP's being tampered with or powered off. What else would/could it be? All equipment is Linksys BTW.
