No solution, a couple of comments, by default when sql server is installed its name is the same as the machine. This line in the log may give a clue

2003-08-09 10:43:54.71 spid1 Server is unnamed.

I would expect it to say Server name is '??????'

Thanks. Yes, I've noted that. But how can I resolve it?
