Hi

Just swapped a case over on an existing machine and added a new graphics card and a RAID controller. Since swap machine freezes on BIOS after the CPU has been identified. If I cycle through several resets it eventually boots, and continues to work fine, and restarts without further problems. I've tried returning the system to its pre case swap state and the problem remains, but the number of resets before boot is reduced. System is

MSI nforce 2 mobo
AMD XP 3200+
512 mb pc3200 (2x256)
2 x HDD
2 x Optical (CD-RW, Combo)
ATI 9500 pro
Sound card
ISDN modem

Already tried changing the IDE cables and checked seating of all cards etc.

Many thanks in advance

i suspect your power supply (cant handle the peak currents while booting, when you switch on several times the caps are loaded, then it works).

Thanks Lemon13

What would you suggest? My current supply is rated at 480W, although some of the amp ratings seem a little low (eg 12v - 13a)

Thanks again

12v should be at 20a (5v at 30a).
if you verified that its the psu you need more power or less current while booting. get a replacement for psu or get rid of some hardware (i.e usb2 enclosure for combo/hdd), there is not much you can do.
