Hi there--
We are mostly a PC/Windows shop with our users running Office 2003.
I have 2 Mac users and I installed Mac Office 2004 Pro.
On my file server, several people need to update a couple excel and word documents.
In the PC world, if a user opens the excel document and forgets to get out, the 2nd user that tries to open it is given a message like "ABC User is using this, Open in REad Only mode?" or something like that. No big deal.
If a MAC user is the first person who opens the file, no one else can open it up. We are given an error like "the document name or path is not valid" and you can't open it up.
Is this a known Mac/PC incompatibility? Is there something special I need to do on my file server - Server 2003 Standard SP1 - fully patched.
Help please.
