Mac network drops and W2K Server

We are running Windows 2000 Server and we are having repeated mac drops from the server. It creates an error event ID 12061. I checked it out with microsoft online and they blame it on Macs. We have Mac OS 8 & 9 running, there is no time specific time that the Mac drops and Mac drops during a middle of a download, upload, while working on a file, etc...
HELP!
