Hi

I have a mac and sometimes get emailed Adobe docs and occasionally the text is displayed corruptly - when I email it back to the source they can see it fine. I also receive CD's with files occasionally and the same problem arises...

Did anybody see this before and if so any resolution...

What is meant by 'the text is displayed corruptly'? Are the wrong fonts used? Is the text unreadable, as if in another language?

If the wrong fonts appear, it may be because the creator did not embed them properly. This would explain why they can see them well on their computer but you cannot see them on yours.

The text is a series of little shapes (this is the best way i can describe it), what you say about the creator not embedding them properly how does he/she do this-I will get them to try..Does this type of thing only happen on the MAC as I have never seen it before in other environments. Thanks. :)

Most PDF creation software will offer the option to embed fonts. The 'series of little shapes' that you describe is certainly how a document might look if the fonts are not embedded.

This thing happens on any platform.
