Hi all,

on cisco 3524 and HP2524 boxes,I used to get mac addresses of stations attached to the switch ports by snmp walk on dot1dTPFdbTable. I have modified tha switch config (VLAN 1 shut down, admin Vlan moved to Vlan 2, created multiple Vlan, suppressed CDP and STP ...) and now I just get the port's mac addresses (Status "self") but nothing more "learned" as addresses...and however the cli cmd sh mac address table always gives the expected mac adddresses

the HP2524 also supporting these vlans always answer correctly.

has somebody an idea on the question ?
thanks in advance
yb

By default, the Cisco switches seem to respond only with the Mac addresses on vlan 1. To get the mac addresses for a different vlan you need to add "@" and the vlan number to the SNMP community string. So, to get the mac address table for vlan 2, you might use community string "public@2". See for more details.
