We are running mixed network here. Our main servers are running Novell 4.11 and our email is running NT 4.0. We have a DHCP server that also runs NT 4.0 and an SAP connection that connects to a server in another facility. We run on Cisco Fasthubs and have 2 Cisco Switches, a Cisco Router and a Cisco Firewall. All of our servers at this facility are Dell Poweredge servers.

The problem that we have been experiencing is that a various times in the day our network losses connectivity momentarily. We lose contact with the Novell servers, we have to release and renew the ip address in order to access the email and SAP servers, and we lose our connection to the internet.

We hooked up a Fluke meter to several of our hubs and found that we were getting a lot of bad FCs with MAC address that are all 5s or they start with 505 the rest of the numbers are 5. We have one that is 00 and the rest is all fives.

Does anyone have any idea how I can track down these NICs? Or does anyone have any idea why we keep losing all protocol connections?
