Hello All,

Has anyone heard anything about a switch bogging down because of several mac addresses coming from the same port. In vmware everyone is aware that the system will create a mac address for each of the virtual machines and each of these machines will share the physical ethernet port. Has anyone noticed any issues on their switches???

Thanks,
Eddie

Nope, no issues...

What NIC are you using, VLANCE or VMXNET?

No issues here either. Of course I've got dual gigabit NICs connect to each virutal switch on my ESX servers. I am also using VLANCE.

Can you be more specific? Are you utilizing all of your bandwidth? Have you tried running any network monitors to see if your switch is rejecting packets or resetting the connections? I find it hard to believe that a switch would have problems with multiple MACs.
