I just replaced an old 8x24 dr1 with a MICS 7.1 and CP100 3.1 The customer had a bunch of old old M7208's I changed a couple of phones to T6316E but he wants to keep most of the old phones. I turned set relocation on, the T7316E moved with no problem, they tried to move a M7208 and it changed dn. Any ideas? Is the set just to old? I've never had a problem before.

I've not run into that either, but I'd have to guess it's the vintage of the M7208. Look at the sticker on the bottom of the phone and it should tell you the release number. Let us know which ones work (if any) and which ones don't.

I have seen this on a BCM. Nortel states that set relocation is not 100% garauntee. I have seen phones that will not relocate. We have better success when only relocating 1 phone at a time.

I'd put my money on the release level of the phone, too. I've had other issues with ancient phones lately. It wouldn't suprise me if this falls into that category, too.

I don't know what the deal was, I went on site unpluged the phone in question and pluged it back in, no change in dn. Do the phones have a memory cap in them? How does the system footprint the phones? This is a mystery to me. Usally it's just the oppisite, you can't get the system to forget a phone...

I think there's a RAM chip in the phone that "remembers" its settings.
