Hi

I'm using .m3u files on my website ( to stream mp3s. This seems to work as intended, except for one user who complains that when clicking the .m3u URL, all he gets is the text in the file displayed in his browser (mac OS9 - browser unknown). Since he was the only one, I thought it would have something to do with his own settings, but now I just installed Mozilla on my own laptop, and I get the same problem. I've tried searching through the Mozilla help files and settings, but found nothing that would explain this behaviour. Any experience/tips?

TIA

Looking at directions at

I noticed that the .m3u file should only contain the url to the mp3 file. Yours contain extra information which causes Mozilla to treat them as text files and displays the content. I tried with just the URL and Mozilla prompted for the use of external program but I do not have anything that can play mp3 on this computer. Try it, it might work.

Hi Vragabond - thanx for your effort. The extra info in my m3u's are there because I tried saving the m3u's from winamp in an attempt to solve this problem - however, that didn't work. Now I just tried to do as you said here, also following the instructions on the page you pointed to, but it's still not working :-( .

Anyhow, thanks again, and if anybody has other suggestions I'd be happy to hear it.
