There is a M3904 with the Option 11c system. This is the front desk and the calls are getting forward to a cordless phone when the rep is walking around. If the cordless phone is in use, the caller will get a busy signal. Is there a way to set it so when the call is getting forward, it'll check to see if the cordless is busy. If it's busy, don't forward and ring on the original phone. This way, the call can get route to voice mail if needed. Thanks for helping a newbie...

Can I assume the cordless phone has a regular phone (POTS) line associated with it? If so, maybe you can cross-connect that phone number to an XUT TN and build it as a private line and allow call forward busy? But even if that was possible (and i don't know if it is) then anytime that cordless was busy the call would route to the front desk.

helsknight, You can install an ATA device on the front desk phone and plug the cordless into it. You will want to set POA in the class of service on that phone to allow the user to switch between the digital phone and the cordless.

I believe the cordless is an analog (POTS) but I don't know for sure. It's all part of the Option 11c and I can call and access the cordless internally by the DN extension. So this can't be done with just the standard function of the 3904 or the 11C?

Sure it can the ATA, analog terminal adapter, can be connected to the 3904 and programmed to use the same number. If it's an analog line on your switch then it's not a POTS.

either way just prt the dnb for the analog ext, then add a hunt dn, if the station is busy, cls=hta and hunt =xxxx the call will go to xxxx.. mail of the front desk or ?

Thanks for all your advices.

Johnpoole if I hunt for front desk(original phone) if (cordless) busy and it goes back to the front desk, wouldn't the front desk re forward to coreless? Would this go into a continuous loop?
