Hi guys,

Over the weekend we had an air flow problem into our server room and basically it shut down some of the option 11.

It's now back up and running but a few of the M3904 handsets have gone weird. They can make and receive calls, but the top of the main is covered in 0's and other charectors. I have have rest the phones on the system, pulled the cables out of the phones then put them back in again, reset the keys on the phones, and even reset the firmware on the phones but the display shows the same symbols.

The only way to get rid of the symbols is to replace the handset.

Can anyone think of anything else I could try?

no, they took a power surge from the heat shutdown. if your vendor is like the one here they will replace them. the voltage to that screen is 5 volts, almost any spike in that voltage will fry the display. might try reseating the card but it sounds like bad lcd's

I got one back from the other site and plugged it into a spare tn and set it up. The display was showing lots of strange charectors and also some of it was in french lol.

I changed it to english and it made it a little better, as in I could read a few of the displays that were not affected.

I then checked and found that for some reason the firmware level was at 4.something when our phones should be currently on 8.7.

I had tried doing a forced download on another effect set, but I did it on this one anyway and lo and behold it worked.

Telecom's is a funny world sometimes.
