Are there any interfaces out there for the M2616 sets to allow the connection of a visual flasher or loud ringer directly to the digital set? Is there also a unit that can allow the connection of a TTY for the hearing impaired?

I saw the the 2616 can use the meridian analog terminal adaptor. Is this part still being made? I would loke to use one in a 2616 to allow the connection of a loud ringer or visual alert and allow connection of a direct connect TTY at a scholl for the deaf.

any info is welcome and any guides to documention would be great.

yes you can still but the ata for that set, it programs as the same type phone on the data tn (+16) for that set

Install an external alerter board (A0389401) which will provide a contact closure at ringing. Nortel used to sell a little desktop light you could connect, but have a relay and a power supply and you can connect anything you want.

I am not sure how your setup will exactly be, but I used a setup where I had an external alerter (can't remember the brand) but it was connected to an analouge port with the same number programmed to it. I used it on a receiving dock. It required 110 voltage for the actual lamp. Otherwise it had a 4 conducter line cord that connected to the jack where the line terminated.

Analogue line? I wonder why? interesting. Are you sure you are actually using the external alerter or just the analogue port's ringing voltage?

I forgot to mention that the alerter I used also had a variable audible alert as well. Not sure how it was wired but I could not get the lamp to light unless I plugged it in.

The lamp probably had a relay built in actuated either by ringing voltage or a closing pair.

Have had bells and Klaxon horns that work in this manner. Klaxon horn makes a great ringer. Put it over a guard shack out in a steel erector field once. Kep the guard awake.

Better late than never...
See for different types of strobes. Look at the Aux Box line which serves all kinds of applications. I have it connected to my phone. First relay used for strobes on ring and second relay for light that shows I'm on the phone.
