I heard that Nortel will no longer be manufacturing the M2250 consoles. Do you know if this is true? if it is, does anyone know if Nortel is coming out with a non-IP replacement product? thanks all.

M2250 is discontinued yes. They have no replacements at the moment, but they are working with a IP solution for this. They now refer to SMILE...

They released an end of life notice on all M2000 phones (2008,2616, etc.) awhile back as of Dec 2004.

They now refer to SMILE..." they should have named that one laugh out loud,

Funny, I heard this to be the case, which probably means the ones I have lying around could actually increase in value! :)

not bad in theroy, but does that also mean that the 30 million that are coming out are going to be priceless?

John,

My experience is that customers like simple stuff for smaller systems and as a result they will still want m2250s. I still have a few customers who still buy M2616Ds, M2216Ds and even M2006s from us. The same applies to M7XXX classic stuff for the norstars. As far as Nortel phones go, there's a lot of truth in the saying "they don't make 'enm like they used to" . The handsets on the T series phones are shagnasty horrible things (same ones used on M39XX. We do a reasonable trade in supplying replacements so I suppose I shouldn't grumble too much. The less fashion conscious folks we deal with favour longevity over aesthetics.

the 2000 series phones seem to last, i've got some here that must be 6 or 8 years old.. my headache is with eol for the 2000 stuff, how long will nortel software support then, we just not replaced our last 200 2009/2317 sets.. 20 years ago nortel was selling their evergreen policy, never had to upgrade, the phones you but today will be supported ....that must have went away

Spoke with NORTEL sales suport and according to them the M2250 has been reintroduced. Has anyone here heard anything different?

no,i am still using the 2250,a nd as of a week ago nortel didn't have a problem with that. i haven't seen anything on a new 3000 version of the 2250
