Help me, I have a customer that has added a third company to their 4.1 XC Norstar. Until now all was well with night service. We added the VM DN to a group and ring calls into the AA afterhours. That will also work for the third company afterhours. My hardship is the customer's request for lunch and break time call treatment. Presently the backup recep. is within earshot of the console set. This person does a call pickup and answers with Alpha Companies to cover lines 145 and 146. We are using PRI via target lines. Now during lunch we can't have Beta Company answered by this person it needs to ring the Beta office so their people can handle it, while the front desk is at lunch.
This seems possible given the number of service modes and ringing groups available, my problem is doing the split up between lunch and night.
I was working with doing 3 different ringing services Day, Lunch, and Night. However after two hours of programming and testing with Nervous Nell the recep, Over the shoulder Ollie the owner and Try this Trey the consultant I was ready to go postal.
Anybody hear a subject matter expert on Service Modes that can direct me.

Can you give me the extension numbers that you want each line to ring at during lunch?

Yes I can.

Line 145 and 146 need to ring ext 221 during lunch
Line 147 needs to ring ext 345 during lunch

to clarify
all three will ring 221 during day
all three wil ring VM DN 300 during night

thanks for your time

I'm assuming you have 300 as the ringing set in ring group 001 for night mode.

Set up 221 in ring group 002 (or the phone you want it to ring at, as I understand it, this is the phone that the other person is within ear shot- you could just have it ring this persons phone instead of 221).

Set up 345 in ring group 003.

Go to your Lunch schedule, set it up to manual.

Assign line 145 and 146 to ring group 002.

Assign line 147 to ring group 003.

When the receptionist enables the "Lunch" mode using F871 your lines should be routed to their assigned sets.

Is this what you were doing?

One other thing. Make sure that in ring group 003, you remove 221 as a ringing set (it defaults to all groups).

Thanks you made that clean and simple, I'm testing this Monday PM. I'll update you then

Thanks again
