LTO Drive cleaning with TSM 5.2 and Lib IBM 3583

Hello,

I've been using a TSM solution with a 3583Lib with 3 LTO2 drives for 1 year now and no drive cleaning have been done.

I know that LTO technology doesn't require a lot of cleaning, but I'm wondering if this is a normal behaviour.

Cleaning is disable on the library, this implies that the cleaning task is made by the host

I checked into TSM configuration, drive cleaning frequency is set to ASNEEDED.

A cleaning tape is in the library and recognized as a cleaning tape by TSM (status cleaner) with 50 cleanings left.

Is there an option or something I missed ?

Nope... Drive cleaning is not needed as much as it used to. The LTO drive can go without a cleaning for up to 2 years. You can manually clean them if you wish.
