The LT rapidly beeps on startup there seems to be no pattern to the beeps then loads the system, once you get to the login screen it fills the password blank stars if you tab to the user name field it fills the box with slashs if you wait it will allow you to clear the junk and login. Then startup takes a while to finish and then loading applications is slow. Have tried looking for virus's no luck yet. Any ideas??

Still might be a bad keyboard.....or motherboard? Is the BIOS up to date? Your manufacturer SHOULD have diagnostics available for download...these SHOULD allow you to test your mobo, keyboard, and I/O controller...
One last thought...have you recently upgraded this system from an older OS?? If so, is everything compatible with XP?
