after an lsp takes over as a standalone.. once the link back to the main server comes back up.. how do you go back to lsp mode?

The "mg recovery rules" determine that.

"change sys mg-recovery 1" for example. set up this rule, and then "change media x", set it to use Rule 1. When the gateways start to recover to the main site, the LSP also attempts to re-register, to the main switch.

All programming is done on the main site.

The only thing you would do on the gateway is set the IP address up, the default gateway, setup the mgc list, set the sync timing, etc.

How do I know what rule is being used. I did a display on rule 1 and rule 2 and there's no mention of what is using what and I haven't checked to see if any others are assigned.

You could check on what rule is being used on gateway x with the "show media-gateway x" command.
