For some strange reason (to me anyway) vector based EPS files (Illustrator CS) prints ' low_res' from Quark 6.0. I use a Epson Stylus C84 Ink printer (USB) When creating a PDF from Quark I end up with the same problem. I don't have any problems when printing from Adobe products so my guess is that it is a problem occuring when Quark imports the eps file. Anyone outthere got the solution to this?

Thanks

In the tabs at the top of this Forum you will see a FAQ tab. Blueark has written a very good explanation of how quark displays and prints imported graphics. I would check it out. Quark only displays graphics FPO (for position only) they may look grainy. When you print to a non-postscript printer (which I suspect you are) Quark prints that FPO graphic, not the high-res version.

The same possibly could be happening when you create your pdf if you dont have a postscript print driver.

Quick thought about the pdf thing you mentioned, Ryan. Isn't it impossible to create a pdf if you don't have a post script printer driver? I mean, isn't Distiller a post script driver itself? Or jmc, are you using Quark's built-in Export to pdf?

What ended up being the problem? (I just realized this post is a week old!)
