I leave my system on at nights. When I login in the mornings, it says I don't have enough system resources to do anything. I have to reboot the Compaq Evo W6000 to get everything working again. What would be tying up my resources? I have a 40GB drive, 512MD of RAM. Why does it only happen in the evening. I have my NAV 2004 runnign a scan at night, but that's it.

agates2,

There could be many reasons, but normally it's due to the number of processes you have running in the background. There are a ton of resources all over the net, but I will say that you should use the process of elimination to find the culprit.

For example, start one night by not letting NAV run a full virus scan. Leave that option off and see if the problem reoccurs after several days. If that wasn't it, go down the line.

This site has some useful info on system processes that you can disable if you choose:
