Sure.
In V5, you would have to edit the LOV and force a sort.
In V6, there is a universe paramter "FORCE_SORTED_LOV". For some reason it's set to NO by default.
You're probably using SQL Server. It's the only database I've ever used that doesn't sort values after a Select Distinct.
