I've built myself a new computer based on the MSI-6339 Mobo.

The connections to the case internal loudspeaker have got me puzzled - I can't get any beep on POST even though the machine is fine. I've downloaded the Mobo handbook and followed the connections specified therein. The labels silk-screened on the Mobo next to the connection blocks aren't consistently accurate.

The handbook mentions a jumper to switch between the case speaker and the on-Mobo buzzer but I haven't tried that yet.

Has anyone out there had hands-on experience of this board and met (and fixed) this problem?

Best regards,

Pete W.

If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs - you haven't seen the latest Change Note!

if the jumper is set to the buzzer, then no sound to case speaker....it's one or the other.

follow the connection print out in the mobo... most mobo's have double connections for the front... some are implemented and others aren't... so the silk screening on the mobo, might point out the connectors for the missing connector (the secondary) thus not quite correct for the one that is implemented...

and yes try to switch it... for speaker use...
