Hi!

I need to find out what version do Lotus Notes clients have using SMS inventory.

Has anybody already estabished the relationship between NOTES.EXE and its corresponding version of Lotus Notes ?.

(There's a number of different sizes and dates for that file, and haven't get a proper answer from the supplier - I luv the MS-IBM tug of war...)

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

With limited experience, it seems to me that the Lotus product using notes.exe does not have file version information in the header that SMS collects. You may be able to tell the version by the file size, or update the sms_def.mof to collect values from add/remove programs.

It appears that there are other notes.exe that aren't Lotus. Microsoft appears to have a notes.exe, as does BackTec (MSLM) and Seagate.

I'm trying to identify them by the file size. By now, just these:

Version File Size
---------------------------------
Lotus Notes 5.02c 176.128
Lotus Notes 4.6.1 232.448
Lotus Notes v4.1-32bit 210.944
Lotus Notes v4.1-16bit 195.712

Do not hesitate to add more to these (short) list.
Thanks.

Two more in this list:
Lotus notes v4.65a 273.356 bytes
Lotus notes v5.05 176.128 bytes
