Lotus Notes 7.0.3 - new emails arriving as read (Black color) 1

Have a user whose new/unread emails are arriving in black color in his inbox, instead of red. It was working fine up until a week ago. Did some google searching but nothing I found really helped. Has anyone seen this before or have any insight? Thanks!
