Scenario: I inherited a file server where the previous administrator created a lot of groups to control permissions to files on a NTFS shared folder. He then removed the groups from active directory, but the NTFS permissions were left on the files.
Now when I set security permissions on files, I always have a TON of unknown accounts, instead showing me a very long SID string.
Does anybody know of any program that will clean this up for me? Perhaps search every file on the server and report on permissions / fixing acl entries?
