Hello everyone:

People have been making changes to an access database we are working on. Mainly, the changes have been inserting data into tables. We just noticed that all the changes that we have made since monday are now not showing.

I have research and found that everybody in the team made their changes in the right way and I am forced to think it is a problem related to Microsoft Access.

Any idea on what the problem could be?

Thank you.

Hi

You have "n" users updating the database.

are you sure they are all updating a single copy on a network drive, rather than a local copy on their C: drive?

Thanks for replying.

I actually just confirmed that they were all updating the right database.

I am beginning to think that the daily backup process may need to be reviewed.

I am new to access databases so forgive me if my questions don't make sense - Is there a way to automatically back up an access database? If there is, how is the best way to go about it?

Thanks.

Hi

Nothing within Access itself, but most backup applications have a scheduler option, or you could perhaps use windows scheduler with a simple script to just copy the relevant mdb file(s)
