Lost my device 1

Hello

I can't seem to bring back my drive in BE 8.5 - I rebooted the system the other day and my drive got lost in BE it shows up in the remote storage MMC but it is offline - Also in the drive pools there is nothing - any suggestions on how i can bring it back online?

Right click on My Computer icon. Select Manage. Click on Device Manager. Is your tape device listed?

Either way, try this:
Go to Start>Control Panel>Add Hardware. Click on that and go through the screens. Choose Repair/Troubleshoot instead of Add/Remove.

It doesn't show up in the device manager
and I have tried add and remove - Troubleshooting and it doesn't show up in there either.

I am going to try unplugging it and restarting the server the replug it back in and see if it works

any other suggestions?

If windows doesnt show it then BE wont pick it up.
Unplug the device and boot up the server.
Power down. Re-attach the device.
Make sure its detected in SCSI BIOS

Did all that - it pickup the backup device but refuses to load the windows drivers for this seagate scorpion-240 autoloader

Any help will be utilized and tried

Edit the following file pvl.mdb. Try to find out your drive in that little databas (take a copy of it first.) Try to delete your drive name in the file. It will probably not work. but you can try.

if its not working try to found a new PVL.mdb, then BE will rediscover your drive
