lost links with 2003 server

I have a user using quark on window 200 workstation with his images stored on a 2003 server.

Whenever he reopens a file he has to relink all his images.
Has anyone come across this problem before?
Does anyon have a solution to this?

Thanks for any advice

Are the images showing up as Missing or Modified?
