lost file sharing tab

I am unclear on why this has happened but I have lost the "sharing" tab.

When I right click on a folder on my C: I no longer have the sharing and security option. Nor do I have the sharing tab unber properties.

My machine is XP Pro sp2.

Any suggestions would be helpful

sounds like you inadvertandly turned SIMPLE FILESHARING on, as this negates the SECURITY TAB...

I thank you for the quick response but still no file sharing tab under options.

I have unchecked simple file sharing and still nothing.

Was 'File and Print Sharing for Microsoft Networks' disabled or removed from your network connection properties?

Thank you folks for responding. "smah" I think that was the problem I took my machine of the domain and I was back to normal on the sharing tab. I checked under services and then fixed it there and rejoined the domain and problem went away.

Linney great articles for reference I will hold onto them as well.
