Lost entire network connection into an adjacent network

Lost entire network connection into an adjacent network.

The main network has the accounting the sub network is fine, just lost the contact to the main network.

How do I start troubleshooting?

All win98 OS

Thats a pretty broad question........

Sounds like a gateway issue to me....Have you checked your gateway??
