On upgrading a Windows ME box to 2000 I've lost all my apps. Is there a way to make them run now? The box now has a WINNT folder and a WINDOWS folder. Everything is still on the harddrive, but programs won't run now. Does anyone know how to fix this without reinstalling all the apps?

thanks

No you have to reinstall the apps.

What you have done is allow you machine to boot two OS's WinME and W2K (I'm pretty sure that is what you have done)

There are all kinds of system files that are in c:\Windows\system\ They need to be in the c:\winnt\system32 don't just copy files that can get ugly and make your machine unbootable.

Also if you converted from fat32 to NTFS file system then WinME will not boot.

Sorry i'm not much help

Thanks actually your right that is what i did. Yet I had an error on installing windows 2000 and i didn't want it to leave the ME OS. Yet once I booted up it did that and now I'm pretty sure I have to reinstall all the apps
