Hi,I have made several sites and was making a new one.I use tripod and when I fired up dreamweaver 4 all my sites are gone! Can anyone explain what I need to do,to get them back. When I opened dreamweaver all I had was define sites. Thanks so much. "Every sunrise is a gift from God"

I'm assuming the site files are stored localy as well as on your server? If so- link to the folders that the content is in. If not- find out the ftp, and download them so you have a local copy. As for re-inserting your ftp information- if you don't know what it is- then hopefully you can recover the information by emailing tripod.

Why it's done this- I have no idea, unless you have re-installed Dreamweaver, your files shouldn't dissapear- have you checked your machine for viruses lately? Sometimes, when my code just won't behave, I take it outside and make it listen to britney spears music, and when it comes back it's really well behaved. I wonder if it's suffering from post tramatic stress syndrome now..

Love your answer............lol. I think that is what I will have to do is just redo my ftp...anyway I hope so...lol.Yes I do have all the folders locally...thankfully.It's just I was so shocked it did that..went into panick mode...lol. Thanks for taking the time to answer. Gr8 Place!!! Gr8 People!!!! "Every sunrise is a gift from God"

Damma,

By now you may have recovered from this problem. You should back up your work to tape and Burn copies to Rewritable CD's as a regular practice. CD & DVD Backups my save you from tape failures.

Hope you learned something from this, things like this happen and the stored backups will save the day if your drive fails or a virus wipes you or your ISP out.

Good Luck,
