I have XP Pro. One account, added another account, lost admin icon and all of my settings. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

See if you have the account name folder in C:\Documents and Settings.

811151 - How to Copy User Data to a New User Profile

Error Message: Windows Cannot Load Your Profile Because It May Be Corrupted (Q318011)

System Restore may be able to restore your settings if you restore the profile successfully, it would be better if you had a proper backup, then you could restore everything in one go

Bascially when you install Windows XP...you have to create a system Administrator account. This is the only account that is created at this time, and is the one that will log on to windows normally. However, Microsoft have in mind that you do not use the Administrator account as a normal working account. So as soon as you create a new account, they take the option to logon to the Administrator account at the welcome screen away.

I figured it out.

I went to Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Computer management / Local Users and Groups / Users

I doubled clicked on the disabled account name
Then I clicked on Member of (the screen was blank)
I then typed Users (hit add), then Administrators (hit add)
Apply

logged off and the deleted user names were there.
