I have a file server running SBS 2000. Whenever I restart/reboot the machine it clears all of the shares that I have set. I can reset the shares and all works well until the next time I reboot. Any suggestions as to what might be the problem.

Thanks!

rclendenon,
when you make the share do you have the box ticked to reconnect at logon?
is there something in the policy?
is there a script running at startup?
regards,
longhair

i assume that this is a manual mapping of the share drives that you did. When you do this make sure you check to "reconnect at logon" which reconnect all the drives everytime you logon so you don't lose it.

longhair & rmcp2k,

Thanks for the reply. The problem was actually on the server. When I set up a folder as shared everything worked. However, when I reboot the server sharing for these folders has been turned off.

I am under a time restraint so I have rebuilt the server and all appears to be working now.

Thanks again for the help!
